Whistleblower Lawsuit Alleges Misconduct in Secretary of State's Office
A press conference is scheduled to reveal a whistleblower lawsuit against Secretary of State Denny Hoskins and his office. The lawsuit alleges that former Director of Election Integrity Nicholas La Strada was terminated for exposing fabricated evidence and a decision to overturn a certified election. La Strada, a Republican appointed by Hoskins, will have his attorneys announce the lawsuit at 10 a.m. on the steps of the Cole County Courthouse. The lawsuit claims that La Strada was fired for revealing illegal and unethical behavior within the Secretary of State's office, including a scheme to create false evidence in a federal hearing and the reversal of a certified municipal election. Retaliating against an individual for disclosing misconduct is prohibited by Missouri State law.
