Senior Citizens Arrested in Miami Drug Bust: Details of the Recent Operation
A recent drug bust in Miami resulted in the arrest of two elderly men for drug dealing. Magdaleno Medina, 73, and Cesar Valdes, 89, were apprehended following an undercover operation that took place in August. The sting operation culminated in a raid on the men's residence, where law enforcement officers discovered a significant amount of cocaine, marijuana, and firearms. The seized items included 141 grams of cocaine, 1,278 grams of marijuana, a Smith & Wesson .38 revolver, and a Sig R365 .9mm handgun, along with ammunition for both weapons. The revolver was reported stolen from another county, while the .9mm handgun was reported in Doral.
Medina and Valdes were taken into custody and charged with armed cocaine trafficking and grand theft of a firearm. Both men, who were born in Cuba, are currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an immigration hold. The Miami-Dade County's Public Defender's Office is representing the defendants in this case. The arrests were the result of a coordinated effort by law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related activities in the area.
