Green Bay Police Respond to Disturbance Call: Officer Discharges Firearm, Driver Arrested for Suspected DUI
Early Saturday morning, Green Bay police responded to a disturbance call at Doty and Washington streets. Upon arrival, officers encountered a vehicle driving into a crowd of bystanders and officers. In response, an officer discharged their firearm. Following a brief pursuit, the vehicle was stopped using a PIT maneuver near North Monroe Avenue and Pine Street. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. Fortunately, no individuals were injured by the gunfire, and the four officers who sustained injuries are expected to recover. The officer who discharged their weapon will be placed on administrative leave as per department protocol. The Green Bay Police Department has confirmed that all officers involved were equipped with body cameras. The investigation will be supported by the Brown County Sheriff’s Office.
