Introducing the Thrill Glider: A Revolutionary Roller Coaster Experience at Six Flags Magic Mountain
A groundbreaking roller coaster is set to debut at Six Flags Magic Mountain, offering a unique combination of three different ride experiences in one thrilling attraction. The new Thrill Glider multi-launch flying suspended motorbike coaster is currently being constructed at the Valencia amusement park and is scheduled to open in 2027. This innovative ride, created by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, will merge flying, motorbike, and suspended coaster technologies to create a one-of-a-kind experience for visitors.
Thrill Glider riders will embark on an exhilarating journey straddling hovercycles and suspended beneath the coaster track in a prone position. The terrain-hugging course will feature 20 track elements and 12 airtime moments, lasting approximately 80 seconds and enhanced with onboard audio, lighting effects, and a station fly-by. With a height of 107 feet and a top speed of 50 mph along 3,380 feet of track, the Thrill Glider will offer an adrenaline-pumping experience for thrill seekers.
The coaster will feature five inversions, including Wing Over, Zero-G Roll, Overbanked Stall Turn, Barrel Roll, and Upward Barrel Roll. Magic Mountain aims to attract tween thrill seekers who are ready to graduate from the Ninja coaster but may not yet meet the height requirement for Tatsu. The Thrill Glider will be the longest, tallest, and fastest ride of its kind until similar versions open at other parks in the future.
Construction of the Thrill Glider is underway at Six Flags Magic Mountain, with blue track and supports arriving at the site. The coaster will be located on 3.4 acres of the former Showcase Theater site, beneath the former Superman: Escape from Krypton coaster. While the Thrill Glider will not break any existing records at Magic Mountain for speed, height, length, or inversions, it promises to offer a unique and thrilling experience for visitors.
The new coaster was announced as part of Six Flags' plan to invest $1 billion in new rides, with an initial launch date set for 2027. Magic Mountain is currently offering a limited-time sale on 2027 season passes, which include access to Knott's Berry Farm and free parking.
