California Election Fraud Scheme Uncovered: Arrest of 'Lord' and Associates in Victorville
Federal agents apprehended James Brass, also known as "Lord," in Victorville, San Bernardino County, for his alleged involvement in an election fraud scheme. Brass reportedly paid Skid Row homeless individuals to sign California ballot petitions using stolen identities. The FBI arrested Brass outside his home early in the morning after surveilling him. He was taken into custody without incident at a nearby gas station. Two petition circulators, Courtney Price and Jateisha Herron, were also charged in connection with the scheme. LA's top federal prosecutor, Bill Essayli, emphasized the seriousness of election fraud cases and accused Brass and his associates of manipulating the democratic process by using stolen identities to fabricate signatures on ballot petitions. The defendants face charges of conspiracy to commit identity fraud and identity fraud in furtherance of a state felony. The extent of the fraudulent signatures collected and the specific ballot measures involved remain unclear, but Brass allegedly paid over $41,000 for the signatures.
