A high surf advisory and coastal flood advisory were in effect until 11 p.m. Tuesday for portions of Los Angeles County and Orange County coasts. South and southwestern-facing beaches were expected to experience large breaking waves of 6 to 10 feet, while west-facing beaches could see waves of 4 to 7 feet. Strong rip currents and longshore currents posed dangers along the coastline.
