In a picturesque riverside village in Upstate New York, Maddie Muurisepp and Brooklyn Dahlgren, recent Wellsville graduates and now college students, embarked on a summer project inspired by Harry Styles' song "Coming up Roses." Maddie, an acting major at Nazareth University, and Brooklyn, a film major at St. John Fisher, teamed up to create a music video during their break.
The duo carefully selected "Coming up Roses" for its deep meaning and beautiful instrumentals, believing it was the perfect song to tell a story through a music video. With a professional approach and a touch of fun, they enlisted friends to bring their vision to life, utilizing Wellsville's charming locations like Island Park and Giant Food Mart.
The video showcased various scenes, including a flashback montage capturing the moments between a girl and her past love, highlighting the impact of fleeting relationships. Filming in different locations around town, such as the grocery store and Main Street, presented challenges like the scorching heat during a summer heatwave.
Despite the difficulties, Maddie and Brooklyn enjoyed filming in familiar small-town settings, aiming to capture the essence of classic Americana. The video featured iconic Wellsville spots like Island Park and the downtown area, showcasing the town's charm while interpreting Harry Styles' song in their unique way.
