JSO's Operation Riverwatch: 59 Arrests of Sexual Offenders and Predators for Violating Release Terms
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office recently conducted Operation Riverwatch, resulting in the arrest of 59 registered sexual offenders and predators for violating their release terms. This initiative, carried out by JSO’s Offender Tracking Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service, involved over 230 man-hours and 535 checks on offenders in Jacksonville. The arrests were made due to noncompliance with the strict requirements set forth by Florida law for registered offenders and predators.
JSO emphasized the importance of registered offenders adhering to the regulations in place to safeguard the community. Failure to comply can lead to serious consequences, including felony charges and additional registration obligations. The sheriff’s office encourages individuals to report any suspicions of offenders or predators violating their release conditions by contacting 904-630-0500.
