Tragic Incident Unfolds: Miami Steakhouse Manager Faces Murder Charges After Mother's Stabbing
A Miami steakhouse manager was found covered in blood and holding a knife outside his luxury apartment, claiming self-defense after his mother was discovered stabbed to death inside. Stefano Eduardo Cremasco-Cicero, 36, faces second-degree murder charges in connection with the incident.
Police responded to a call for assistance at the Brickell high-rise early Friday and found Cremasco-Cicero with blood on his hands, clothing, and shoes. His mother was found with multiple stab wounds behind the front door of the apartment and was pronounced dead shortly after.
The woman, who was visiting from Mexico and staying with her son, has not been publicly identified. Surveillance video showed Cremasco-Cicero and his mother returning to the building together the night before the incident.
Investigators recovered several kitchen knives with blood on them, blood-spattered shirts, broken glass, and a broken wine bottle from the apartment. Cremasco-Cicero's wife, who was in France at the time of the killing, mentioned that he had been under stress while preparing to open a restaurant in Coconut Grove.
Cremasco-Cicero, identified as a Miami resident through an investor visa, is currently held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center with no bond, a domestic-violence designation, and an immigration hold. The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that he is an illegal immigrant and called on Florida to honor the detainer.
The motive for the killing remains unknown, and further information was sought from the Miami Police Department, the Miami-Dade Clerk of Courts, and 1986 Steakhouse.
