800 Barrels of Guinness Stolen in Runcorn: Authorities Seek Information
Authorities are seeking information following the theft of approximately 800 barrels of Guinness valued at £115,000 from a depot in Runcorn. The incident occurred on August 31 when two trailers loaded with the stout were taken from an industrial estate in the Aston Lane area. A lorry entered the site at 7.45pm, connected to a trailer of Guinness, and left 10 minutes later towards the Mersey Gateway. Another lorry arrived at 9.12pm, connected to a second trailer, and departed towards Rainhill and Watkinson Way. The total value of the stolen items is estimated at £205,000. The stolen trailers are described as white tri-axle curtain-side trailers with GXO branding. The drivers of the HGVs are described as men, one with a short dark beard and a beanie hat, and the other wearing a cap. Detectives are urging witnesses or individuals with video footage to come forward to assist in the investigation.
