Taylor Swift has shown her support for a Connecticut mother who was severely injured while assisting a group of teenagers involved in a car accident during a rainstorm. The singer donated $50,000 to a GoFundMe campaign to aid Ashley Taunton, a 42-year-old nursing assistant who was injured while helping strangers. Taunton had stopped to help a group of teenagers with car trouble on I-95 South in Rhode Island when another vehicle hydroplaned and struck her, causing serious injuries.
Taunton's act of kindness led to her sustaining life-threatening injuries, including internal carotid artery dissection, liver and spleen lacerations, rib fractures, and a ruptured diaphragm. She faces a long road to recovery, with potential physical therapy lasting up to a year. Swift left a heartfelt message on the GoFundMe page, expressing her well wishes for Taunton's recovery and sending love to her family.
