Rediscovering Lucky Brand Jeans: A Tall Guy's Review of the 363, 181, and 410 Fits
My relationship with jeans has always been complicated due to my tall stature and specific sizing requirements. Lucky Brand Jeans, a brand I loved in college, is making a comeback with pop star collaborations like Charlie Puth. I tried out three pairs of Lucky Brand Jeans, including the 363 Vintage Straight, 181 Relaxed Straight, and 410 Athletic Straight, in different sizes to see if they could win me back after a decade.
To my surprise, the 32" inseam pairs fit me well despite my height, and the 34" pair didn't feel significantly longer. I tested the jeans by wearing them for a couple of days to see how they moved with me and how comfortable they were. The stretch, denim feel, and fit differences between the three cuts were noticeable and distinct.
The 363 Vintage Straight felt like a normal pair of jeans with a mid-rise and straight leg. The 181 Relaxed Straight had room through the thigh for an athletic build without feeling baggy. The 410 Athletic Straight was the most tailored and snugger through the thigh, with generous front-panel room.
The stretch in all three pairs was impressive, balancing comfort and shape retention. The denim was softer than I remembered from college, worn-in yet still weighted like jeans. Overall, I was a big fan of the Charlie Puth-approved Lucky Brand Jeans for their fit, comfort, and style.
If Lucky Brand Jeans aren't your cup of tea, there are alternative options available. The 363 and 181 fits ran true to size, while sizing up in the 410 Athletic Straight might be necessary for a slightly snugger thigh fit.
