Entrepreneurs from across the nation submitted their ideas, and five finalists were selected to participate in the live pitch competition on September 18. The competition is part of the Trump administration's efforts to showcase American ingenuity and support innovation and small-business growth. The five finalists competing for the prize money are Compotech, Inc. in Brewer, ME, Winton Machine in Suwanee, GA, Plas-Tech Tooling in Garner, IA, Red River in Gillette, WY, and VetPowered LLC in San Diego, CA. The first-place winner will receive $400,000, with prizes ranging from $75,000 to $250,000 for the other finalists. The competition format is reminiscent of Trump's reality show "The Apprentice," where contestants faced challenges to work for his company.
