Alaska Democrat Tom Begich Endorses Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins for Governor
Tom Begich, a Democrat, has decided to step down from the Alaska governor's race and has endorsed fellow Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins in a bid to secure the seat in the upcoming November election. Begich, who narrowly trailed Kreiss-Tomkins in the primary, faced competition from 12 Republicans and independent candidates. In Alaska's election process, the top four candidates, irrespective of their party affiliation, move on to the ranked-vote general election in November. Kreiss-Tomkins now has Begich's support as he vies for the governor's position.
