Teenager Arrested for Evading Police and Crashing Car in Portsmouth
A teenager from Rochester was taken into custody by New Hampshire State Police for criminal charges and driving offenses after allegedly trying to evade police and crashing a car in Portsmouth on Saturday evening. The incident occurred when a trooper attempted to stop a 2008 Ford Mustang on Durham Street in Portsmouth while searching for a vehicle linked to reported crimes in other areas. The driver, identified as Wyatt Seely, 17, reportedly tried to flee upon seeing the trooper.
The Mustang, which was reportedly driving without its lights on, crashed through a perimeter fence at Portsmouth International Airport and crossed an aircraft parking apron before colliding with a Kubota tractor and a parked aircraft, eventually coming to a halt. Seely was subsequently arrested on charges including aggravated driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated, disobeying a police officer, conduct after an accident, and reckless driving. He is scheduled for arraignment in Portsmouth District Court on Sept. 9.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident, and the state police received assistance from Newington and Portsmouth police, Portsmouth firefighters, and Pease Fire and Emergency Services.
