Violent Parolee Jesus Acosta Apprehended by NYPD for Two Murders in NYC Crime Spree
The NYPD successfully apprehended a violent parolee, Jesus Acosta, who was wanted for two murders committed during a 48-hour crime spree in New York City. Acosta, 31, was identified as the suspect in a shooting at a Bronx deli and another at a Brooklyn eatery. The FBI had offered a $25,000 reward for information leading to his capture in connection to the murders of MD Yousef and Tayvon Shuler. The United Bodegas of America also offered an additional $10,000 for Acosta's arrest.
Acosta had been released on parole in April after serving a 10-year sentence for assault and criminal possession of a weapon. Following his arrest, the NYPD expressed gratitude to their officers, detectives, and the community for their efforts in locating and apprehending Acosta.
