Josh Collette: A Hero's Journey to Recovery

A father of five from California, Josh Collette, is now paralyzed from the neck down after a heroic attempt to rescue a child caught in a rip current at Riviera Beach. The incident occurred on August 15, when a child around seven years old was struggling in the waves. Despite the child's mother trying to reach them, Josh rushed past her and entered the water, where he sustained a severe injury, possibly hitting rocks or a sandbar. Good Samaritans helped bring him back to shore, where he informed his wife of his suspected neck injury. Doctors later confirmed his paralysis, though they anticipate he will regain his ability to speak. The child he tried to save made it safely out of the water before Josh was rescued.

Facing a challenging recovery journey, Josh's family has launched an online fundraiser to assist with his medical expenses, long-term therapy, and other financial burdens. The family remains hopeful and grateful for the outpouring of love, support, and prayers they have received during this difficult time. The road ahead will be tough, but they are holding onto hope and have already witnessed many miracles.
