Inside the Penn State Fraternity Cocaine-Trafficking Scandal: The Thomas Robinson Case
A member of a Penn State fraternity was arrested for allegedly running a cocaine-trafficking operation from the Delta Upsilon fraternity house. Thomas Robinson, also known as "T-Rob," was surprised by his arrest and initially thought it was a prank. A confidential informant reported that Robinson was selling large quantities of cocaine, with payments being made through the Venmo username "Tom-robinson-53." When police executed a search warrant in Robinson's room, they found drugs, a handgun, and drug paraphernalia. Robinson resisted arrest and claimed he thought the officers were his fraternity brothers playing a prank.
Robinson identified Agostino Abbatiello as his primary cocaine supplier after his arrest. The operation allegedly started in 2023 when Robinson was introduced to Abbatiello by fellow fraternity member Mohammed Huraibi. Robinson and Huraibi initially pooled their money for a cocaine purchase and later made larger transactions with Abbatiello. Robinson completed several major transactions with Abbatiello in 2024, including purchases of 500 grams and two kilograms of cocaine.
Abbatiello surrendered to authorities and was denied bail after his arraignment on multiple felony counts. Robinson's father, Paul Robinson, who is an attorney, was also charged with felony evidence-tampering and hindering-apprehension. Thomas Robinson faces more than 10 felony counts, including drug-related charges and involvement in a corrupt organization. The case also accuses him of dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity.
