Fiona Robertson, the Chief Education Officer, emphasized in a report that the current purpose is not to start a consultation for statutory closure but to assess all available options for Burravoe Primary School. The school's enrollment has significantly declined from 11 students in the previous academic year to just four pupils in May, representing only 13% of its 30-pupil capacity. Similarly, Cullivoe Primary School and Mid Yell Junior High School's primary department in Yell are also experiencing low enrollment, with Cullivoe having nine students out of 30 and Mid Yell having 25 pupils out of 70.
