Tragic Incident on West Cliff Drive: Fatal Accident Near Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz
A tragic incident occurred on West Cliff Drive near Steamer Lane in Santa Cruz, resulting in one fatality. Emergency services were alerted around 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from various agencies, including the Santa Cruz Fire Department, Central Fire District of Santa Cruz County, Scotts Valley Fire Department, and Santa Cruz Police Department. Rescuers found one individual who had managed to escape the vehicle, while another victim remained inside. Despite efforts by SCFD rescue swimmers, the second victim did not survive.
The first victim sustained minor injuries and the second victim was transported to a nearby medical facility, where they later passed away.
