Mark Latham, 61, was convicted of wire fraud after diverting company funds for personal use. Latham, who served as the finance director at Performance Software Corporation, misappropriated money by transferring it to his personal account, paying off debts, issuing unauthorized bonuses, and covering rent for a relative. He managed to conceal the fraud by altering bank statements until his scheme was uncovered in 2025.
Latham's extravagant spending habits included purchasing high-end concert tickets, luxury vacations, and sporting event tickets. He spent $39,000 on Super Bowl tickets, $29,731 on Taylor Swift concert tickets, and $38,827 on NFL season tickets. Additionally, he splurged on a room at the Four Seasons Hotel in Costa Rica and a custom golf simulator. Latham's fraudulent activities went undetected for nearly two decades, allowing him to live a luxurious lifestyle at the expense of his employer.
As a result of his actions, Latham was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison and ordered to pay restitution of $10,752,535. His guilty plea to wire fraud led to the discovery of his embezzlement scheme and the subsequent legal consequences.
