Alabama Congressional Districts Primaries: Changes and Controversies
Alabama voters will be heading to the polls to select U.S. House nominees in four out of the state's seven congressional districts on Tuesday. The new map has led to the elimination of one of the two majority-Black districts currently held by Democrats. Originally scheduled for May 19, the primaries for the 1st, 2nd, 6th, and 7th Congressional Districts were postponed by Republican Governor Kay Ivey following a U.S. Supreme Court decision that affected several Republican-controlled Southern states' congressional maps.
