Typhoon Bavi weakened to a tropical storm after hitting eastern China's Zhejiang province, but it still brought strong winds and heavy rain to the region. The storm moved northwestward into Anhui province, causing heavy rain and strong winds in many eastern and northeastern Chinese cities. Zhejiang province evacuated over 2.2 million people, while Shanghai and Fujian province also evacuated residents from at-risk areas. In Yueqing, Zhejiang province, numerous trees were uprooted, and Shanghai's airports canceled hundreds of flights due to the storm.

Bavi passed north of Taiwan without making a direct landfall, but it caused injuries to 134 people on the island. When the storm hit Guam, it was classified as a "super typhoon," bringing strong winds and heavy rain to the Northern Mariana Islands. Despite weakening to a tropical storm, Bavi's large size and moisture content still pose risks to areas along its path. The storm's impact is expected to continue as it moves across eastern China, affecting various regions with heavy rain and strong winds.
