Arrests Made in Connection with Firebomb Attacks on New Democracy Party Members in Thessaloniki

Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the firebomb attacks on the homes of New Democracy party members in Thessaloniki. The arrests were made following counterterrorism operations in Thessaloniki and Crete, with the investigation ongoing. One person died and three were injured in the attacks using improvised explosive devices made from camping gas canisters.
A 26-year-old woman with ties to Greece's anarchist movement was arrested in Hania, Crete, while a 29-year-old man known in Thessaloniki's anarchist circles was also apprehended. Both are believed to have been involved in the fatal attack on Vagia Nestora, the mother of a New Democracy candidate. The third suspect is the owner of a house where the other two suspects allegedly sought refuge after the attack.
Investigators suspect that different groups were responsible for the attacks, with one group carrying out the first two incidents and another responsible for the fatal attack. Surveillance footage and other evidence indicated that the suspects had conducted reconnaissance in the area before the attacks. The arrests mark progress in the ongoing investigation into the deadly firebomb attacks in Thessaloniki.
