King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard Unveils New Album 'Alien Metal' - A Dive into Electronic Territories
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has revealed that their upcoming album, Alien Metal, will be a hard electronic project set to be released later this summer. This will mark the band's 28th studio LP and will be released on their own p(doom) Records. The lead single from the album, "Level 5," has a spacey, acid-y, jungle-influenced sound and is accompanied by a music video directed by Hayden Somerville and featuring actor Vince Colosimo.
The band recently announced a "rave show" under the K Bridge in Brooklyn on August 23, following their three-night run at New York's Forest Hills Stadium from August 20-22. The album Alien Metal has been a long time in the making, with the band discarding previous iterations of the project before finally unlocking its sound during a late-night jam session. The album explores darker and more pummeling areas of electronic music, incorporating techno, hardcore, ravey house, and jungle elements.
The band's Field of Vision festival is set to return to Meadow Creek in Buena Vista, Colo. on August 14-16, and the festival is already sold out.
