Important Road Closure Alert: A898 Erskine Bridge Resurfacing Work in Glasgow

Glasgow drivers should prepare for potential delays next month as essential resurfacing work is scheduled for the A898 Erskine Bridge. The southbound carriageway will be completely closed from 8pm on Friday, August 7, until 6am on Monday, August 10, with alternative routes available. Additionally, lane two on the northbound carriageway will be closed during the works. All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Monday, August 10, assuming the work is finished on time.
During the closure, southbound motorway traffic will be redirected to A82 Great Western Road eastbound, joining the M8 at Junction 17 westbound on slip from West Graham St, and continuing on the M8 to Junction 30 where the diversion ends. Non-motorway traffic heading southbound will be diverted via A82 Great Western Road eastbound to Crow Road, through the Clyde Tunnel onto Edminson Drive, Helen St, Paisley Rd W West Bound, Glasgow Rd, Old Sneddon St, St James' St, Greenock Rd, St James' Interchange following the A726 up to the interchange under A898 where the diversion ends.
Emergency service access has been arranged and will be maintained in collaboration with relevant parties. The resurfacing works are subject to weather conditions and may be rescheduled or canceled if conditions are unfavorable. Amey has emphasized that the improvements will enhance the safety and condition of the carriageway, benefiting daily commuters who use the route.
