50th Anniversary Spectacular: Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza Celebrates America's 250th Birthday
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Extravaganza is set to be a grand celebration this year, marking the show’s 50th anniversary and America’s 250th birthday. The event will feature a stunning display of 85,000 shells in 30 vibrant colors, spanning across Manhattan from the East River to the Hudson River and the Brooklyn Bridge.
For those planning to attend, viewing points will be available along the FDR Drive in Manhattan, with the NYPD managing access points in the area. Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced 100,000 free tickets for New Yorkers to watch from prime viewing areas at Brooklyn Bridge Park and the South Street Seaport. The public lottery for tickets is now closed, and winners will be notified by July 2.
Organizers recommend using public transit on July 4, as NYC Transit will increase subway service before and after the fireworks display. Bus service near the fireworks will be rerouted, with additional trips available after the event. The NYPD has listed prohibited items at public viewing locations, and all spectators are subject to search.
If you can't attend in person, the fireworks show will be broadcast on NBC and Peacock from 8 to 10 p.m. ET/PT, with an encore presentation at 10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and a Spanish-language simulcast on Telemundo. Performers at the event include Noah Kahan, Post Malone, Salt-N-Pepa, Bebe Rexha, Shaboozey, and Blake Shelton, with a live performance by Alexia Jayy, winner of NBC’s “The Voice” season 29.
