Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez are set to star in Illumination's new animated film, Not Alone. The movie, announced at the Annecy Animation Festival, follows the story of Joe, a reserved rocket mechanic, and Fran, a skilled astro-botanist working on a plant-powered rocket. As they collaborate on Fran's groundbreaking project, their relationship blossoms amidst awkward moments and unexpected challenges.
When three small aliens seek refuge on Earth, Joe and Fran find themselves embroiled in a larger adventure than they ever imagined. The aliens, Dunk, Welly, and Shirm, believe Fran's rocket could be their ticket home, leading to a series of comical escapades and encounters with Officer Zandro, played by Brett Goldstein.
Not Alone boasts a star-studded voice cast, with Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan, and Jamie Demetriou voicing the alien trio, and Allison Janney and Lamorne Morris in supporting roles. The film is co-directed by Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson, and Jonathan Del Val, with Illumination's Chris Meledandri at the helm as producer.
