Lauryn Hill Receives Living Legend Icon Award at BET Awards 2026: A Tribute to a Musical Icon
Lauryn Hill was recognized with the Living Legend Icon Award at the BET Awards 2026, where she was celebrated with a star-studded tribute performance. Following a commercial break, Hill surprised the audience by taking the stage to perform "Ex-Factor," despite not originally being scheduled to perform. Ice Cube then presented her with the well-deserved Living Legend Icon Award, acknowledging her significant contributions to music and culture. The BET Awards 2026 also honored other notable musicians, including Teyana Taylor, who received the Icon of the Year award from Janet Jackson, and music executive Sylvia Rhone, who was recognized with the Ultimate Icon Award presented by Kelly Rowland.
