Scandal at Davis Mortuary: Co-Owners Arrested for Allegedly Leaving Bodies to Decay

Brian Cotter and Christopher Cotter, co-owners of Davis Mortuary in Pueblo, Colorado, have been arrested following allegations of leaving numerous bodies to decay in their funeral home. The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) records revealed that Brian Cotter's funeral home was scheduled for an inspection in August 2025, during which inspectors detected a strong odor of decomposition. Upon further investigation, inspectors found bodies in various stages of decomposition hidden behind a cardboard display. Cotter reportedly admitted that some of the bodies had been awaiting cremation for around 15 years. A press conference to address the charges will be held at the 10th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Pueblo.
