Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez to Star in Animated Feature Film 'Not Alone' with Adorable Alien Fugitives
Timothée Chalamet and Selena Gomez are set to star in the upcoming animated feature film Not Alone. Chalamet will voice the character of Joe, an introverted rocket mechanic, while Gomez will voice Fran, a brilliant astro-botanist. The two characters are brought together to prepare for the world's first plant-powered rocket launch, leading to unexpected sparks between them.
As Joe and Fran navigate their budding romance, their lives take a surprising turn when three adorable alien fugitives seek refuge in Joe's home. The aliens, named Dunk, Welly, and Shirm, are on the run from Officer Zandro, an overzealous but bumbling law enforcer. The supporting cast includes voices from Rob Brydon, Diane Morgan, Jamie Demetriou, Brett Goldstein, Allison Janney, and Lamorne Morris.
Not Alone is co-directed by Eric Guillon, Claire Dodgson, and Jonathan Del Val, known for their work on popular animated films like Despicable Me 3 and The Secret Life of Pets 2. The movie is produced by Illumination founder Chris Meledandri, with a team of executive producers including Joy Poirel, Richard Curtis, and David Distenfeld.
The film is scheduled for release on April 16, 2027, and will mark Chalamet's first animated role and add to Gomez's impressive list of projects. The announcement of Not Alone comes on the heels of positive feedback for Illumination's latest release, Minions & Monsters, which premiered at the Annecy Animation Festival.
