The Weeknd Unveils 40-Foot Gold Sorayama Sculpture for 2026 European Tour

The Weeknd has introduced a striking new stage feature for the upcoming 2026 European leg of his After Hours til Dawn Tour: a towering 40-foot-tall gold sculpture crafted by renowned Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama, famous for his "Sexy Robot" series. This impressive artwork surpasses the size of the previous six-meter Sorayama sculpture from the 2023 European tour, making it a standout visual element in the production. Described as the largest commissioned fine artwork for a concert, the sculpture was meticulously hand-carved from polystyrene in Toyama, Japan, before being coated in gold to achieve its metallic look.

Designed exclusively for the tour, the sculpture incorporates laser-illuminated eyes and theatrical smoke effects emanating from its palm, adding a dynamic and interactive element to the live show. This unveiling represents the latest enhancement to the After Hours til Dawn Tour, known for its grand cinematic staging and futuristic visual aesthetics. The gold Sorayama sculpture takes center stage in the European production, showcasing the ongoing creative partnership between The Weeknd and the acclaimed artist.
