Texas State Rep. James Talarico Calls for Release of Hoffman Files at Waco Political Rally

Texas State Rep. James Talarico, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, is set to host a political rally at the McLennan County Courthouse in Waco, urging Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton to release the Hoffman Files. The event is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the downtown courthouse. Talarico's call for the release of the files comes in the midst of controversy surrounding a plea deal made by Paxton's office with former Waco attorney Adam Hoffman. Hoffman pleaded guilty to reduced charges of indecent assault and displaying harmful materials to a minor after a mistrial in his first-degree felony case. The prosecutors stated that the decision to accept the plea deal was made in the best interest of the child victim involved. Hoffman served 29 days in jail and was not required to register as a sex offender in Texas but had to register in Sarpy County, Nebraska, where he moved after his release.
