NBCUniversal Local’s LXTV Productions is set to debut a special episode of its lifestyle series 1st Look this weekend, airing after Saturday Night Live on NBC stations nationwide. Hosted by Jared Haibon, the episode titled 1st Look Presents: Sail4th 250 — Celebration of America will showcase the port cities and waterways involved in Sail4th 250, a Semiquincentennial maritime and aerial event planned for New York Harbor around the Fourth of July. Sail4th 250 is expected to be a historic gathering with tall ships, naval vessels, and aircraft from 46 nations participating.

The special episode will take viewers on a journey through New York, New Orleans, and Boston, exploring the maritime history and culture of these cities. In New York City, Haibon will visit iconic landmarks like Fraunces Tavern, while in New Orleans, he will delve into the influence of the Mississippi River on the city's food, music, and culture. The program will conclude in Boston, highlighting the city's waterfront heritage and its significance in American history.

Meredith McGinn, NBCUniversal Local's executive vice president of diginets and original productions, expressed excitement about the special, calling it an entertaining way to learn about American culture and history leading up to the nation's 250th birthday celebration. The episode is part of NBCU Local's Our 250 campaign, a 100-day initiative commemorating the United States' 250th anniversary with news coverage, specials, and features.

As an official media partner of Sail4th 250, NBCUniversal News Group will provide six hours of live coverage on July 4, featuring the International Parade of Sail, the International Naval Review, and the International Aerial Review. Following its premiere, 1st Look Presents: Sail4th 250 — Celebration of America will be available for streaming on Peacock, NBC-owned stations' free ad-supported streaming TV channels, and the 1st Look YouTube channel.
