A massive fire erupted at a storage facility in Boyle Heights, causing rows of solar panels on the roof to ignite. The incident was reported at 2:35 p.m. in the 1400 block of S Los Palos Street. Firefighters arrived to find flames coming from the roof of the large single-story building, estimated to be around 1,000 feet x 500 feet. As the situation became more dangerous, firefighters on the roof were instructed to evacuate immediately. Aerial footage captured the moment when the fire escalated into an explosion, sending a huge plume of black smoke into the sky. Authorities suspect a potential ammonia leak, urging residents in the vicinity to close their windows and doors as a safety measure.
