Cardi B and Biggie's Meerkat Family: A Growing Legacy at Blair Drummond Safari Park
A pair of meerkats named after famous rap stars Cardi B and Biggie recently welcomed their fifth litter at a safari park in Scotland. The Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park in Scotland announced the birth of five new meerkat pups on May 5. Cardi B and Biggie, the proud parents, have been at the zoo since 2022 and have now become experienced parents with their fifth litter.
The newborn meerkats spend their initial weeks underground as they are born blind, deaf, and nearly hairless. Meerkats live in close-knit groups called mobs, and other adult meerkats in the group assist in caring for and protecting the young pups. As the pups grow, they will open their eyes and begin eating solid foods. The pups emerged from their underground den on May 29, 2026, showcasing their emerging personalities.
Carolyn Booth, a Pets Farm Team Leader at the zoo, mentioned that the meerkat pups are starting to explore and show their unique personalities. The entire mob has come together to raise the pups, highlighting the fascinating group dynamic at play during this stage of their development.
Cardi B and Biggie have proven to be dedicated parents, with this being their fifth litter of meerkat pups. In September 2025, Cardi B gave birth to four pups, adding to their growing meerkat family. In total, the pair has now welcomed 19 meerkat pups at the sanctuary, showcasing their commitment to expanding their family.
