Trump Endorses Mike Collins in Crucial Georgia Senate Race

President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican Rep. Mike Collins in a crucial Senate race in Georgia, which will play a significant role in determining the GOP's majority in the Senate during the midterm elections. Collins, a strong supporter of Trump, is facing off against former college football coach Derek Dooley in a runoff election on Tuesday.
The winner of the GOP Senate nomination will compete against Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff in the midterms. Collins, who hails from Georgia's 10th Congressional District, is the son of the late Rep. Mac Collins and is known for his MAGA credentials and support for the president.
Dooley, on the other hand, is backed by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and has emphasized his outsider image while targeting Collins as a political insider. Both candidates have faced scrutiny, with Collins being investigated by the House Ethics Committee and Dooley being accused of involvement in a "pay to play" scandal.
While the Republicans battle for their party's nomination, Ossoff has been building a strong fundraising advantage for the general election. Trump's endorsement power is also being tested in another Georgia runoff, where Lt. Gov. Burt Jones, supported by Trump, is competing for the GOP gubernatorial nomination.
Trump's endorsement streak in Republican primaries has been notable, but it was recently broken in Iowa when his candidate, Rep. Randy Feenstra, was narrowly defeated. However, Trump rebounded with the success of Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette in the South Carolina GOP gubernatorial primary.
In South Carolina, Sen. Lindsey Graham, another Trump ally, secured a majority of the vote in the Republican Senate primary and avoided a runoff. Graham faced challenges from multiple candidates, including Mark Lynch, who criticized the senator's stance on the war in Iran and was supported by some MAGA leaders critical of Trump.
