Tragic Murder at Fort Gordon: Former U.S. Army National Guard Soldier Admits to Killing Army Soldier in Jealous Rage

A former U.S. Army National Guard soldier admitted to shooting and killing an Army soldier after discovering him in bed with his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child. Natravien R. Landry, 27, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the killing of U.S. Army Sgt. Andre S. Stewart Jr. at Fort Gordon in Augusta, Georgia. The incident occurred on December 14, 2024, at an apartment complex on the military base. Landry, who was on a break from drill duty, went to the woman's home and found Stewart in the bedroom. Despite knowing Stewart was unarmed, Landry shot him once in the chest, resulting in Stewart's death. Landry fled the scene but was later arrested and admitted to the shooting during an interview. The woman revealed that Landry was jealous of Stewart. Stewart's sister expressed grief over her brother's death, highlighting that he left behind a 5-year-old son who was present during the shooting. Landry's sentencing date is pending.
