Transforming into the King of Pop: Juliano Krue Valdi's Journey Portraying Young Michael Jackson

Portraying young Michael Jackson was a dream come true for Juliano Krue Valdi. Seeing himself transformed into the King of Pop was surreal and exciting. Valdi shares the role with Jaafar Jackson, portraying Michael's early years and rise to fame with the Jackson 5. Valdi, a dedicated MJ fan, put in hours of work to perfect his Michael impression for the film.

The biggest challenge for Valdi was portraying Michael's complex relationship with his father, Joe Jackson, who was known for his abusive behavior towards his children. Scenes depicting Joe's abuse towards Michael were emotionally challenging for Valdi, but working with co-star Domingo helped him navigate those difficult moments. Despite the tough scenes, Valdi and Domingo shared fun moments on set, including playful interactions between takes.

Valdi fondly recalls winning a bet against director Antoine Fuqua on set, earning $50 for his performance. Working with a rodent co-star had its challenges, as the animal ended up pooping and peeing on Valdi during filming. Despite the mishap, Valdi found the experience of working with the rodent interesting and manageable.

As the Michael experience came to an end, Valdi felt a mix of emotions, including sadness and pride. He was excited to see himself on the big screen and looked forward to sharing his work with audiences. The journey of portraying young Michael Jackson was a significant milestone for Valdi as he made his entry into Hollywood.
