Officer-Involved Shooting on Northbound 101 Freeway in Boyle Heights: Man Allegedly Armed with Hammer
A man was shot by the California Highway Patrol on the northbound 101 Freeway in Boyle Heights after allegedly being armed with a hammer. The incident occurred following a call received by the CHP around 7:29 a.m. reporting a man on the freeway at Fourth Street. An officer-involved shooting took place, but the circumstances leading up to it are unclear. Both directions of the freeway will remain closed until further notice, as confirmed by the CHP. Aerial footage captured the man being loaded onto an ambulance, and fortunately, no officers were injured during the incident.
