San Ysidro Port of Entry Closure: Traffic Redirected Due to Demonstration Activity

The San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego County was temporarily closed on Thursday morning, leading to traffic heading south to Mexico being redirected. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) announced the closure just before 11 a.m. due to demonstration activity on the Mexican side of the border. Drivers traveling south on I-5 and I-805 were diverted to east SR-905 toward the Otay Mesa Port of Entry. The CHP advised drivers to avoid the area during this time.
