Former Judge Hannah Dugan's Court Appearance for Obstructing Federal Agents: A Review of the Case and Upcoming Sentencing

Former Milwaukee County judge Hannah Dugan, convicted of obstructing federal agents during an immigrant enforcement operation at the courthouse, is set to appear in court on June 3. A federal judge will review a defense motion requesting reconsideration of a previous order denying dismissal of the case. Despite a denied request for a new trial and acquittal in April, Dugan's sentencing has been postponed to hear oral arguments on the motion. The indictment accused Dugan of obstructing federal agents and aiding an undocumented man in evading arrest inside the courthouse in April 2025. Following her guilty verdict for felony obstruction, Dugan resigned as judge in January. The man she allegedly helped was later arrested and deported.
