Vote for the Best Jingle: NYC's 2-K Program Launch with Cardi B and Lin-Manuel Miranda

New Yorkers now have the opportunity to vote for their favorite theme song for Mayor Zohran Mamdani's 2-K program. Music enthusiasts can visit nyc.gov/jingle to participate in selecting the winning jingle. Bronx-born rapper Cardi B and Washington Heights native Lin-Manuel Miranda assisted in choosing the top five finalists from over 300 entries: Gerald, Allegra, John, Amanda, and Miyuki. The jingle contest showcases the new 2-K program in New York City, set to launch on June 2.

The 2-K program in NYC aims to offer free, accessible, and high-quality childcare for parents. The initiative will kick off with 2,000 free seats available this fall, with plans from Mamdani's administration to eventually provide universal access within four years. Families residing in districts 6, 10, 18, 23, and 27 can start applying for the 2-K program starting June 2. Applications can be submitted through MySchools, by calling 718-935-2009, or by visiting one of the City's Family Welcome Centers.

Voting for the jingle competition will remain open until 10 p.m. on June 3. Participants can visit nyc.gov/jingle to cast their votes for the catchy theme song. Stay tuned for the announcement of the winning jingle and continue to support the exciting launch of the 2-K program in New York City.
