Unveiling the NBA Finals Court Designs: A Look at the Iconic Trophy Logo Return

The NBA Finals court designs for this summer have been unveiled, featuring a giant Larry O’Brien Trophy behind each team’s logo. The iconic “Finals” script is painted on one corner of each end, marking the return of the trophy logo to the court for the first time since 2009. This design is a rare occurrence in the NBA Finals, with previous years featuring custom Finals logos or smaller trophy logos.

The last time the trophy logo was prominently displayed on the court was during the 2005 NBA Finals between the Spurs and the Pistons. Since then, the design has made sporadic appearances, with teams occasionally incorporating smaller trophy logos into their court designs. The upcoming Finals matchup between the Spurs and the Knicks promises to be an exciting series, with both teams vying for the championship title.

The Knicks, who swept the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference finals, are making their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999. Led by Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs secured their spot in the Finals by defeating the Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals. The series will kick off with Games 1 and 2 hosted by the Spurs at the Frost Bank Center, followed by Games 3 and 4 at the Knicks' home court.

While the court design is purely aesthetic and won't impact the games, the return of the classic trophy logo adds to the anticipation of an intense and thrilling series. Basketball fans can look forward to witnessing the battle for the championship unfold over the next few weeks on the grand stage of the NBA Finals.
