Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Reckless Police Chase and Shooting Incident in Oregon

A man named Loony Toon was sentenced to 20 years in prison after leading police on a chase and firing a gun at officers in Oregon. The incident occurred in 2025 when police stopped Toon's vehicle and discovered he had an outstanding felony warrant. Toon attempted to escape by reversing his car, running over spike strips, and firing a pistol at officers during the pursuit. He eventually crashed near railroad tracks in Portland and fled to a golf course before being arrested in Sandy, Oregon.

Clackamas County Deputy District Attorney Rebecca Wareham Portlock described the incident as incredibly dangerous, with Toon showing a callous disregard for the lives of police officers and others. Toon, who was on probation for first-degree attempted kidnapping at the time, will also plead guilty to charges in other counties as part of a global plea agreement. He was ordered to pay restitution for damaging a police car and a vehicle hit by bullets fired during the chase.

Toon's criminal history includes 25 convictions, including 16 felonies. The Milwaukie Police Department expressed gratitude for the support of various law enforcement agencies involved in the case.
