Artists like Bret Michaels and Martina McBride decided to cancel their performances, citing concerns about the event becoming more divisive than they had anticipated. Despite these withdrawals, other artists such as Flo Rida, Fab Morvan of Milli Vanilli, and Vanilla Ice are still planning to participate in the celebration. The event's organizers have emphasized that Freedom 250, the organization behind the event, is meant to be nonpolitical, with daily programming themes focusing on various topics like veterans, technological innovations, and the "Make America Healthy Again" movement.
Freedom 250, a project initiated by Trump last year, has faced scrutiny from some Senate Democrats regarding its fundraising practices and potential conflicts of interest.
