Arrest Made in 'Sun Drop Murders' Cold Case: Suspect Charged with First-Degree Murder and Robbery

An arrest has been made in the long-standing cold case known as the "Sun Drop Murders" that occurred nearly 18 years ago in Cabarrus County. The incident took place at the Sun Drop Bottling Company, where two individuals, Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles, were shot to death. Barnhardt, the office manager, and Noles, a job applicant, were the victims of the shooting. The suspect, Johnny Talbert, allegedly shot and killed the victims and stole money from the front office before fleeing the scene. Talbert was apprehended by Port Angeles police in Washington and charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of robbery with a firearm. He is currently held in Clallam County Jail with no bond.
