Off-Duty Police Officer Charged with DUI After Crashing Car in Chatfield, Minnesota

A police officer in Chatfield, Minnesota, identified as Kenneth Gallion, is facing charges for crashing his car while driving under the influence. The incident occurred near West 94th Street and Lyndale Avenue South in Bloomington, Minnesota, after Gallion had finished an off-duty job at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Officers responded to a report of an SUV driving fast and going airborne, eventually striking a building. Gallion, who was wearing his full uniform at the time, exhibited signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and an alcohol odor on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests and blew a 0.273 on a breathalyzer, more than three times the legal limit.

Police Chief Book Hodges expressed shock at the situation, emphasizing the severity of Gallion's intoxication level. Gallion was taken into custody and declined to speak with an attorney. He is scheduled for a hearing next month. The incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of driving under the influence and the consequences that can result from such actions.
