Draper Woman Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Child at Water Park

A woman from Draper was taken into custody on Saturday evening for allegedly assaulting a child at a water park. Marjorie Aliprandi, 68, was charged with Aggravated Assault and Child Abuse and was held at Salt Lake County Jail. According to police reports, the incident occurred at Cowabunga Bay WaterPark on State Street, where the child was playing in a lazy river attraction. The child splashed Aliprandi near a fountain, causing her to react by putting her hands on the child's neck in an attempt to stop them from spraying her. The child reported feeling pressure from her hands but did not lose consciousness, and red scratches were visible on their neck.
Following the altercation, the child informed their mother about the incident after leaving the pool. A lifeguard who witnessed the event provided a detailed account to the responding officer. Aliprandi was subsequently arrested and bail was set at $750.00. It is currently unknown whether bail has been posted at this time.
