Tragic Building Collapse in Angeles City: Search and Rescue Efforts Underway

A construction site in Angeles City, Pampanga, faced a tragic incident as a nine-story building under construction collapsed early Sunday morning. According to the Angeles City Information Office, approximately 30 to 40 individuals are currently trapped inside the rubble. Search and rescue operations are underway to save those trapped in the collapsed structure.
The collapse occurred around 3 a.m. along Teodoro Street in Barangay Balibago. The Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported the incident at 6 a.m. Eight people near the site were rescued immediately, sustaining minor injuries. The building's foreman and 10 others managed to escape and are receiving medical attention from the local government.
As per Jay Pelayo, head of the Angeles City Information Office, the foreman mentioned that the trapped individuals are construction workers. The foreman reported that there are still around 30 to 40 individuals inside the collapsed building. The priority now is to rescue those trapped and ensure their safety.
The situation remains critical as the search and rescue efforts continue to locate and extract the remaining individuals trapped in the collapsed building. The local authorities are working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well-being of all those affected by this unfortunate incident.
